Think global, act local
About me
I have had the fortune of working in a variety of industries. Among these experiences was the opportunity to work with Cirque du Soleil. After doing so in New Zealand and Australia, I taught English in Japan. When I moved back to the United States, I worked and studied in New York City before moving back to California.
Despite having a successful career in the private sector, I felt like I needed more. I went to graduate school to work at the United Nations. As luck would have it, I was able to intern at the Department of Peace Operations in my first semester. Throughout this experience, I realized I would need to focus on working directly with local communities to have the impact I wanted.
I then worked for several nonprofits working on policy, humanitarian aid, and job training programs.
While doing this work was meaningful, I began to think about the impact someone in local government could have working with local nonprofits and businesses. If elected, I promise to serve as the bridge between government and the work already done in communities to improve lives.
“Not only do we live in one of the most resource rich states, we live in an area with a concentration of innovative minds. District #4 has the opportunity to be an example for the rest of the country.”
